About IntervalZero

IntervalZero’s experience and expertise in Embedded technology extends back to 1980 with the founding of its predecessor company, VenturCom, which developed the technology that led to Microsoft’s first embedded operating system.

Back in the 1990s VenturCom sought to enhance its product portfolio by developing and marketing two software product lines – for virtualization and for Embedded hard real-time technologies. In 2005, the company was renamed Ardence, Inc. and two years later enterprise software leader Citrix Systems Inc. purchased Ardence, primarily for the virtualization technology software. In 2008 Citrix supported a buyout of the Embedded technology business by former VenturCom-Ardence-Citrix executives who formed IntervalZero Inc. Citrix Systems signaled its confidence in the IntervalZero management team by maintaining an equity investment in the company.

Today, IntervalZero is the market leader in emerging Soft-Control Architectures, which streamline and simplify development of complex systems in markets ranging from Industrial Automation, to Digital Media, to Medical Systems.

By leveraging x86 technology and symmetric multiprocessing (SMP) functionality, and by extending Microsoft Windows with IntervalZero’s RTX 2009 hard real-time, SMP-enabled plug-in, Soft-Control Architectures reduce costs, boost quality and performance, and significantly reduce reliance on proprietary hardware such as FPGAs and DSPs.

IntervalZero’s success stems from its full commitment to the Microsoft ecosystem and that commitment was recognized in 2009 when IntervalZero was named Microsoft Embedded Independent Software Vendor of the Year for both EMEA and the Americas.

Both Microsoft and Intel were early investors in VenturCom and as a result of those investments and relationships, IntervalZero’s Embedded technology has been embraced by some of the world’s largest and most successful companies. This foundation of global customers enables IntervalZero to gain the insights required to continually innovate and lead the market with high-value features. In 2010, nine of the top 10 Aerospace & Defense companies, seven of the top 10 Medical Device manufacturers and five of the top 15 Auto Manufacturers are IntervalZero customers. There are 600 active customer projects and more than 1,000,000 units of deployed product.

Although the company’s name changed following the sale by Citrix, the management and engineering teams remained the same. The average tenure for IntervalZero's principal architects and engineering management exceeds 10 years. The executive management tenure averages more than six years. Importantly, IntervalZero is committed to the continuous innovation that drives its market leadership, and that instills confidence in Partners and global Customers.
